Barefoot World Atlas app
Traveling the world from your home. That is what it feels like navigating the globe with the interactive Barefoot World Atlas app. Travel to Australia and hear its didgeridoo sounds or learn more about the Canadian brown bear or India’s Jeepney bus. There is so much to see, learn and do, this atlas is a wonderful resource for children to learn about our planet.
You can use this app to prepare your children for your next family trip abroad. It teaches them about its inhabitants – human and animal – and its most important features in culture, nature, architecture, art and much more. Barefoot World Atlas for iPad costs € 4,45 in the app store. To me, this price is definitely worth it. In a recent update, expansion packs were added which you can purchase for an extra € 1,99 per pack. The puzzle pack looks great and the international football pack will appeal to my seven year old football fan.
Whales and dolphins roaming the oceans
The app is available in English, French, Spanish, Catalan, Japanese and German. I a guessing Dutch will not be available any time soon, but I am more than happy to translate for my kids. A downside of the app is that it takes up a lot of space on my iPad. But whenever I use Barefoot Altas, I fall in love with it again. I just love the drawings of all these whales and dolphins roaming the oceans.
OK, it is nothing like traveling the world in real life, but to me this app helps me teach my children why I love to travel. I would love to hear your opinion. Do you like Barefoot Atlas? Can you recommend another atlas app for kids? Please, let me know in the comments below.
