Children’s books for every destination imaginable
One of my favorite websites on traveling with children is aptly named www.travelforkids.com. Not only does it offer great tips on where to go if you feel like taking your family to a far-away destination. But its unique selling point to me is the children’s books section.
I discovered the website when preparing for our trip to the United States. One of the books I bought to prepare our road trip with our children, is a book we still read regularly. Who pooped in the Park? is a story about a family going on a camping trip to Yosemite Park, identifying bears and mountain lions by their tracks. When we were in Yosemite ourselves, our kids could for example point out the guano marks – bat poop – on the mountains. For our next vacation, I bought This is Rome to read to them at bed time. Still looking for the right book on Roman history, though.
From toddlers’ to adolescents’ books
There are so many books to discover on Travel for Kids. They have a section on every continent, listing books per country and region. But do not forget to check out the bottom of the specific destinations pages. There are books for smaller children, that are great to read to them. But there is also plenty of choice if you have older children. Have a look, I am sure you will not regret it…
